Admission of foreign students to Azerbaijan Medical University has been carried out since 1968. Dean's office for foreign students was established in 1970th year. Annually hundreds of students from different countries of the world apply for admission to the Azerbaijan Medical University. Currently, about 3000 students from 50 countries of the world receive education at the university. At Azerbaijan Medical University, classes are conducted in three languages: Azerbaijani, Russian and English. The training of foreign students is divided into 2 stages. Only after admission to the Preparatory Department of the university and the successful examination performance at the end of the academic year, they become a student. Foreign students can choose one of the faculties in university enrolment: preventive medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical.

Duties of the Dean's Office for Foreign Students:

Participation in the organization and admission of foreign students to the University with the relevant departments of the University;

The procedure for concluding and executing contracts between the university and foreign students;

Settlement of foreign students in the hostels of the University, monitoring compliance with the University's internal regulations;

Ensuring the fulfillment of the educational process of foreign students, monitoring the academic discipline of foreign students, as well as carrying out research activities of foreign students and training students in accordance with state educational standards;

Control of semester examinations of foreign students;

Providing a report on the admission of students to the sessional examinations, the transfer and expulsion of students, as well as the adoption of measures related to the violation of academic discipline or internal discipline;

Development of rules for the conduct of foreign students, preparation of proposals for improving their living conditions;

Maintenance of communication with embassies of foreign students and provision relevant information to the embassies of these countries;

Regular communication with the State Migration Service for obtaining a temporary residence permit in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

Information about dismissal students is provided to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in a timely manner;

Organization of cultural and mass events, related to the national holidays of the Republic of Azerbaijan and foreign countries, as well as history and culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

Providing information and reports on foreign students of the University.
